“Because We Are EQUAL to the Task”

National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) is a national campaign held annually in October designed to raise awareness about disability employment issues and to celebrate the many contributions of workers with disabilities. It is a way to pay tribute to the accomplishments of persons with disabilities whose work and career helps have a positive impact on the nation’s economy. Observing NDEAM helps to reaffirm the commitment of many to strive for equal opportunity for all citizens. This year’s theme, “Because We Are EQUAL to the Task,” reflects the reality that people with disabilities have the education, training, experience, and desire to be successful in the workplace.
