International Day of People with Disability

December 3rd is International Day of People with Disability. The purpose is to raise awareness about persons with disabilities in order to improve their lives, provide equal opportunities for all and encourage support for dignity, rights and well-being. This annual observance was proclaimed in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly.

This year’s theme is

Inclusion matters: access and empowerment of people of all abilities.
